Woven from whisper-thin, high-count linen (often called “linen lawn”), the piece is edged on all four sides with a narrow scallop of handmade Valenciennes-style lace that melts seamlessly into an elaborate white-on-white floral border. The flowers themselves are worked in padded satin stitch, seed knots, and tiny eyelets, all connected by filaments of needle-run lace that create airy honeycomb windows. Sprays of berries, willow-leaf fronds, and ribbon-bow motifs repeat in a continuous garland, while occasional standalone bouquets drift inward to soften the centre field.
